Why Join AΩE?

Professional Development

AΩE holds many professional development events. Resume editing as well as mock interviews are held. Furthermore, professional and social events are held with other organizations as a way for members to expand their networks and opportunities.

As a new member, you will also have a alum to network with!

Steps to Join

  • You must attend at least one event to be invited to the Invitation-Only Preference Night (you are not required to attend all events but we encourage doing so to have a better connection with the sisters)
  • Preference Night is a mandatory event in order to proceed into the candidacy process
  • During the candidacy process, we will meet once a week on Sundays, so please plan and make arrangements in advanced, if needed
  • We will be updating Instagram regarding any changes to recruitment week events. Also, please dress accordingly and make arrangements in advanced, if needed

Hear from our sisters

“I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and meet new friends, especially with women who value their academics while also having fun. I also love all the ways I can grow as a person within the sorority. A.O.E. has helped me create lasting friendships not just in college but also throughout my life.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have to be an Engineering major to join?

No! We welcome all majors.

Is there and AΩE. House? Is AΩE on the Panhellenic Council?

AΩE does not have a house. Even though we are a Registered Student Organization (RSO) at Florida Atlantic, we are not on a Panhellenic council and do not participate in Greek Week or any other Greek affiliated events.

What events do you hold?

Check out our events page! We do events that help with sisterhood bonding. We also enjoy collaborating with other engineering related clubs

How will I know this is the right fit for me?

We recommend you go to our recruitment events at the beginning of every semester and get to know the members (See Recruitment for a list of events). There is no obligation to join by attending these events. If you’re still not sure after this point, try it anyway. Your first semester will give you the opportunity to get to know the actives better and you will also be given multiple active mentors to help guide you through your semester and lend advice to help you out along the way. If you end up deciding that AΩE is not right for you, you are free to drop whenever you want.

When can I wear letters?

When you are initiated as an Active member after the candidacy process.

Can I join another sorority while being in A.O.E.?

No. Honor societies such as Tau Beta Pi and Tri Alpha are allowed, but Candidates, Actives, and Alumni of Alpha Omega Epsilon are prohibited from being members of any organization that is associated with the following councils/associations:

  • National Panhellenic Council (NPC)
  • North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC)
  • National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC)
  • National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations, Inc. (NALFO)
